Fifty is Good

Fifty is good! That’s what I tell every one.
Old enough to know better and too young to care
If you consider yourself old at fifty, then thinking it, will make it so.
If at fifty, there is more to be done, then you will remain young.
My woman takes mighty big steps. She stands like a rock,
Tho’ she’s such a little thing

When you were born you came into the world with a kick and a cry.
You are old enough to appreciate your dreams.
Yet young enough to look into the future and see wonderful things.

Think of all the happiness you have brought into the world.
All the promise of pleasures yet to come.

She might not be faultless, yet she lives pretty clean,
If you know what I mean.

Sometimes there are friends,
That have more trouble than they can pack.
It’s the gift of love from her heart,
that gently lifts up the weight off their back.

Her gifts cannot be measured out in coins.
The cost of her precious gifts,
is never minted in silver or gold.
The value of her gift came from within the heart
She is a treasure and a faithful old friend.

If there is a wrinkle to be found in her brow,
it comes from her laughter not from a frown .

After your work here on earth is done.
Then you can rejoice in heaven with the Holy One.
From then to now there is work to be done.
Your tombstone is not yet ready anyhow

My beautiful wife will be fifty,
a mighty sweet gift from above.
I am plenty glad to be called her friend.

Happy Birthday! With all my love old-friend!!!
