Jimmy Fox was born October 9th, 1937. He grew up on a thriving farm in Green Spring Valley, Baltimore County, Maryland, where he gained an inheritable amount of knowledge on the subject of agriculture as well as his attraction to nature.

Jimmy attended Franklin High School but never brought home a degree. This didn’t stop him from learning about what he loved most – history. He has a well-stocked library of American as well as Native American history books. Not only does he enjoy studying the past, he takes great pleasure in other interests, including raising guineas, ducks, geese, chickens and rabbits along with breeding and training horses with the help of his beloved wife Mary Martin.

Jimmy and Mary married in 1975 and started their life together with a two-month long camping trip around the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Travel and camping have always been family delights. The first time Jimmy and Mary visited Colorado, it felt like home to them. They believed they were destined to live there someday. God determined the timing in 1996.

Because dyslexia prevented Jimmy from reading to his three sons, he continually and repeatedly told them stories of life on the farm. Later he had a vision to preserve his heritage for the grandchildren. Now his past becomes our future. Writing in a relaxed manner with precious little formal schooling and with an open mind of true wisdom, Jimmy started to draft The Legacy of a Country Boy.

Even through cancer and dyslexia, Jimmy was determined to finish the book. Faithfully believing that the cancer was cured, they decided to move to Colorado for fresh opportunities where he soon became a successful published freelance writer and cowboy poet. His writings come at a time when our country values the nostalgia of a slower pace of living.

Although the cancer returned, Jimmy continued to work on the book and thank God that he healed a second time. Now Jimmy is healthy and blessed saying, “I have had the chance to taste life twice.” Thirteen years later he shares his stories with everyone else. In the making of the book becomes yet another legend and the book becomes far more than just a story, it becomes the truth and a meaning of a life – a legacy, The Legacy of a Country Boy.
